5 Reasons Why Woodstock is the Best Place to be in Spring

1: Cheese Days

Every Saturday in May you can visit our various cheese producer’s in Oxford County. Stop #1 is a tour of Mountainoak Cheese’s Gouda Factory. Stop #2 – Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese for a taste test of their 5 brothers cheeses. Stop #3 – Ingersoll Cheese Museum to chat with the owner of Quality Sheep Milk. Stop #4 – Foodland in Ingersoll to taste some exotic cheese. Stop #5 – Cheese-filled Lunch at the Elm Hurst Inn. Stop #6 – Ontario Cheese and Condiment pairing at the Wine Cellar and Cheese Shoppe. Stop #7 – get some great deals at Bright Cheese & Butter, and take some samples for the road.

  1. Woodstock Farmers’ Market

The market opens early Saturday morning, and is filled with a bunch of goodies from our local farmers. The best place to shop for anything from milk, eggs, meat, cheese to pastries, jam and the list goes on! This is the hot spot in town every weekend and where you can find over 33 vendors.

  1. Local Greenhouses

We have some amazing greenhouses in the area, that offer huge selections to make your yard and garden a dream! A few of my favourites are Van Dyk’s greenhouses, Haight’s Garden Centre, Wells’ Greenhouses and Floral Express. Be sure to check them out before all the inventory is gone.

  1. Local Brewery with a Patio!

The weather has been amazing this last week, and the patios have been seeing a lot of action. Our local brewery has amazing events, from live music, to bike nights and a great patio to boot. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Great atmosphere with great beer.

  1. Trails and Adventures

We have so many amazing trails around the city. We have roth park that spans all across Pittock, and tons more all throughout Oxford County. Also, in Pittock park you can rent kayaks and canoes to experience the views from the water. So much to do with the new weather.
